Yay!

Congradulations to everyone for making it all the way to and into week 2! I am home at my parents house for spring break, and I thought it would be challenging being surrounded by cookies and bread and the food that they're eating...but suprisingly, I'm not craving it at all. And when I do have a craving, its for grapes or something else that I'm allowed to eat on the cleanse. I've been eating lots of grapefruit and pickles! I found these great garlic pickles in the organic section of my local stop and shop [and they are in a salt brine, not vinegar!] I reccomend a good pickle to anyone dealing with a salt craving..they are truly satisfying. I've been waking up very early too. This morning I arose naturally at 5:40 am! However, I think part of that was due to all the water I drank with my herbs before bed :) How is everyone else doing? Also, does anyone know of any foods to benefit a woman on her moon time? love to all! kendall

SAT NAAM,

Check out Elimination Kriya with Alice on Wednesday and Friday of this week

ached but better now

Felt like I had the flu for Monday, Tuesday----bad headache (is there a good headache?), painful legs, achy joints. Wednesday I got wise, ate 2 bananas and made some Golden Milk. Did the trick. Think I'll make some more today.

Tamari

Hi Everyone!
I am doing much better in terms of my sickness..I got to spend some time in the sauna last night and it was very cleansing. I'm still working on getting all of this mucous out, and we've got about 3 fresh inches of snow up here!

On my salads, I've been putting fresh squeezed lemon, a little bit of apple cider vinegar, a little bit of tamari, and some ground black pepper and tumeric. As I was eating this afternoon, I read the label of the tamari bottle and it says it contains organic wheat. Uh oh! Should I discontinue using tamari all together? Is this also the case with the Braggs version?

Thanks! Good luck to everyone! This first week has been flying by so fast!

"Chocolate" Shake Recipe

Sat Naam All! I hope everyone is doing well and not struggling too much. My biggest problem so far is chocolate. I NEED IT! So this afternoon I decided to do something about it. I thought some of you might be feeling the same way so I wanted to share this recipe. All the amounts are very loose. I really didn't measure a thing.
You'll need the following:
a blender
unsweetened almond milk 1 cup
raw almond butter 1 scoop
bananas I used 2
cacao powder a couple spoonfuls
cacao nibs a handful

Layer everything in your blender and whip it up. It was yummy! You could omit the nibs but I really like the little crunchy bits. I thought it was plenty sweet enough, but if you don't add a little raw honey. As Christie said yesterday it's super easy to make your own almond milk so that would be a better choice if you have time, but I used store bought. I hope this helps you stay the course...
