The headache and achy joints were BEFORE the salt water purge. The purge (the effects of which did last about 2 hours) actually helped with both pains. Achy tonight again so am loading up on the tumeric.
I did the salt water cleanse for the first time this morning...(yesterday I had the laxative tea the night before)...I took the salt water at 8 am..its 1pm and i am still flushing out! I held off on drinking my smoothie til now. Hopefully its over soon. I did drink a few glasses of water after the salt water so maybe that is what's keeping it moving. I don't suspect i will have any trouble with constipation :) - Kendall
I had the strangest thing happen last evening. I tried the salt water cleanse when I got home from work around 6:30pm (I had to try it in the evening because I have to leave my house by 7am to be at work so I can't really do it in the morning. It was also the first time I was doing it this week as I didn't begin the liquid part of the cleanse until Tuesday)- and NOTHING happened!!! NO flush - no bowel movement - nothing except major bloating as all that water and salt stayed in my body! Really strange!!! Now THAT has never happened before!!! (And having done the Master Cleanse before for 11 days I'm very familiar with what is supposed to happen!) Very strange!!! I think I will just stick to laxative tea for the today and tomorrow and then Saturday morning try the flush again.
I had the two teaspoons that I've always used before - maybe it just wasn't enough this time - I read on another site about cleansing that some people use up to a tablespoon of sea salt in the flush - so perhaps for some reason I just needed more. Anyway - good news is that I seemed to have survived the ingestion of that much salt water and this morning (Sat) I tried the salt water flush again (with actually a bit more salt added) and it is working fine! And the past two days with just the laxative tea have been fine, too! I think the key is just being flexible with all of this and listening to you body. I was already noticing the very big difference in how I was able to handle my experience of liquid fasting in the past -when I had set aside a time for the fast when I had no other obligations (so I could rest when needed, etc) - with this time - when I'm going full force at work with 18 four year olds each day needing my full attention - (along with everything else that has to be done) - and it is seriously more challenging. So being kind to yourself is of the first order. And listening to your needs and not forcing anything is vital. Therefore I chose to wait until today to try the flush again because I know today I can handle it. I'm not working today and I can take care of whatever needs may arise. And on Monday I may begin adjusting back to eating very lightly again - two days early - if that feels necessary to support the extra energy that is needed to do my job well. We'll just see how it goes... I'll just trust my body to let me know what needs to be done.
Thats great Akalpreet Kaur! Listening to your body is above all more important than following the guidlines of this cleanse. And building that trust in listening will get through many other life situations as well. Lots of love and hope you can make it on sunday! LOVE

That is strange...Did you have plenty of salt in the mixture? - Kendall
